Looking for a Mac teleprompter?

A teleprompter scrolls. GlideRail jumps to what they asked.

A teleprompter is great for reading a script to a camera. A call is not a script. GlideRail is a conversation rail for your Mac: your notes sit right by your camera, and when someone says a word from one of your headings, Live Rail (Pro, on an Apple Silicon Mac) offers that card. The audio is never recorded or sent.

Quick answer

A teleprompter scrolls a script in one order. Calls do not come in order. GlideRail is a conversation rail: your notes sit by your camera, out of your screen share with Pro, and on an Apple Silicon Mac, Live Rail (Pro) offers the card for a heading the moment someone on the call says its words.

GlideRail is a conversation rail for your Mac: your notes stay in view while you record, and the final video never shows them.

One question and the script is in the wrong place

Most teleprompters move in one order. On a sales call, a demo or an interview, the other person picks the order. They ask about price in minute two, and your price line is still a page away.

So you scroll and search while they watch you. That pause is the thing you wanted the prompter to fix.

Try it on your next call

When a conversation rail fits better

If you read the same words every time, a teleprompter is fine. If the other person talks back, you need the right card, not the next line.

Best for

  • Sales and discovery calls where the buyer picks the order.
  • Demos where questions come in the middle.
  • Coaching calls and webinars with live Q&A.

Watch out for

  • Live Rail needs an Apple Silicon Mac (M1 or later).
  • It only offers cards you wrote. It does not write answers for you.
  • Staying out of screen share is part of Pro.

Prepare for a call, not a speech

  • Write one short card per topic: price, the main objection, a customer story, the next step.
  • Name each card the way people say it out loud, like "price" or "security".
  • Keep exact wording only where it matters, like a number or a legal line.
  • Put the window just under your camera so your eyes stay near the lens.

FAQs

Is GlideRail a teleprompter?

No. A teleprompter shows a script in order. GlideRail is a conversation rail: it holds your cards and offers the right one when the call reaches it. When you do want to read a script straight through, it can scroll one at the speed you set.

Will people on the call see my notes?

With Pro, no. GlideRail stays out of your screen share and your recording. On Zoom, turn on Advanced capture with window filtering. Do one test call before an important one.

What is free and what is Pro?

Free is the whole editor and library, free forever: notes, folders, import, auto-scroll, Notch Mode, sticky notes and extra windows. Pro keeps it out of your screen share and adds Cue Mode with Live Rail, voice following (Apple Silicon), click-through and unlimited folders.

Does Live Rail record my calls?

No. It listens on your Mac, and the audio is never recorded or sent.

Does it work on an Intel Mac?

Live Rail and voice following need an Apple Silicon Mac (M1 or later). On an Intel Mac the rest works, including staying out of screen share, and you move between cards by hand.

Can I try it for free?
