Free tool

A free teleprompter that follows your voice.

Paste your script, press Start and read it out loud. In Chrome and Edge it scrolls as you talk. In any other browser it scrolls at a speed you pick. You don’t need an account, and your script stays in your browser.

Three steps, then read. No account and nothing to install.

  1. Paste your script. Type it or paste it in the box. A blank line between paragraphs makes your place easier to find.
  2. Pick voice or speed. Follow my voice listens through your microphone and keeps up as you read. Set speed scrolls at a steady pace you choose.
  3. Press Start and read. Keep your eyes on the line between the two arrows. Put the window near your camera so you’re looking close to the lens.

Share your screen and they see your script. A browser tab is part of the share.

This teleprompter works well when the camera is the only thing recording. On a call it gets in the way.

GlideRail is a conversation rail for your Mac: it brings up the right facts the moment the conversation needs them, right by your camera, and nobody else sees them. On Apple Silicon Macs it follows your voice too, and it listens on the Mac itself, so no audio leaves it.

Hiding from screen shares and voice following are part of Pro. Every download comes with a 7-day free Pro trial. Download GlideRail for Mac

Run it from the keyboard. You never have to reach for the mouse.

FAQs

Is this teleprompter free?

Yes. You don’t need an account, and there’s no time limit or watermark. It runs in your browser and nothing is installed.

Which browsers can follow my voice?

Chrome and Edge on a computer work best. Other browsers that have speech recognition, like Chrome on Android, can follow along too. In a browser without it, Firefox for one, the teleprompter scrolls at the speed you set.

Is my script saved or sent anywhere?

Your script is saved in this browser so it’s still there next time, and it isn’t sent to us. Voice following works differently: your browser does the listening, and Chrome and Edge send the audio to their own speech service to turn it into words. We never get the audio or the words.

Can I mirror the text for teleprompter glass?

Yes. Turn on Mirror the text, or press M while you read, and the words flip left to right so they read the right way in the glass.

How fast should a teleprompter scroll?

Most people talk at around 130 to 160 words a minute. Start at speed 10, then use the left and right arrow keys while you read until the line you’re on stays between the arrows.

Can people on a Zoom call see the teleprompter?

If you share your whole screen, yes: this tab is in the share like any other window. GlideRail for Mac is made for calls. What you prepared sits by your camera and never shows in the share or the recording (in Zoom, set screen capture to “Advanced capture with window filtering”). That part is Pro, with a 7-day free trial.

Reading from a script on calls?

GlideRail keeps your script and talking points by your camera on your Mac, and nobody on the call sees them. It’s free to download, with a 7-day free Pro trial. Download GlideRail
